Graves is about burying our troubles and running away instead of unpacking and dealing with them. Although we may create the facade of successful lives, the traumas we’ve buried are always ours and tend to resurface and haunt us until it is dealt with accordingly.
lyrics
We fit our pain into a box
Dug a six foot hole and filled it to the top
Then we put a road over the dirt
To navigate away from the hurt
Still back there
Is a box with our name
Where we buried the pain
Where we buried the pain
Still back there is a box with our name
Where we buried the pain, the blame, the shame
We haven’t healed a thing
We’ve just concealed the pain
Built a big city over the graves
Thought the bright lights would keep the ghost away
Bought a nice house at the top of the hill
Like the further away the less we would feel
Still back there
Is a box with our name
Where we buried the pain
Where we buried the pain
Still down there is a box with our name
Where we buried the pain, the blame, the shame
We haven’t healed a thing
We’ve just concealed the pain
We haven’t healed a thing
We’ve just concealed the pain

I just started listening to this album today and am IN LOVE! Every track is perfect.
I'm slightly sad I didn't start listening to boygenius until but happy to be a fan of their music <3 lissie_a
Intimate and unique. This album plays well with a bottle of Syrah crunched up in your finest pair of headphones with candles lit in a steamy bubble bath. sig
The second EP from Northern Irish singer-songwriter Bea Stewart runs from gentle folk to pillowy pop ballads, all perfectly executed. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 15, 2024
